WHO WE ARE

NWBC VISION & CORE VALUES

Working together to extend God's Kingdom

We are a convention of 500+ cooperating SBC churches joining God in His work to encourage leaders and equip churches across Oregon, Washington, and Northern Idaho.

OUR BIG, BOLD GOAL

A disciple-making church in every community in the Pacific Northwest

Vision

To work with God and His churches to extend His Kingdom

Everything we do points toward this vision, this is why we exist.

Mission

Encouraging leaders, equipping churches, and working together to extend God's Kingdom

Everything we do falls under this mission, helping us to achieve our vision.

Core Values

Who we are at our best

These values shape culture, guide decisions, and describe the kind of people NWBC aspires to be together.

01

Grow in Christ by the Power of the Spirit

Our work flows from spiritual depth and is sustained by joy in following Christ. We serve humbly, grow in Christ, and approach our work with seriousness of purpose and lightness of spirit.

This looks like: Remaining spiritually rooted and prayerful; serving with humility rather than ego; working hard while not taking ourselves too seriously; returning to our joy in Christ when things don’t go well.

John 15:4-5; Galatians 5:22-25

04

Build Trust Through Integrity and Dependability

We are honest, dependable, and accountable in all we do. We earn trust by doing what we say we will do and by delivering meaningful results with integrity.

This looks like: Being open, truthful, and clear in our communication; following through on commitments; taking responsibility for outcomes.

Proverbs 11:3; James 5:12

02

Put the Mission Before Ourselves

We choose God’s mission over personal preference, comfort, or credit. We align decisions, priorities, and actions around advancing the mission and extending God’s Kingdom.

This looks like: Making decisions based on mission impact, not personal gain or who gets the credit; embracing sacrifice when it serves the greater good; staying vision-driven and Kingdom-minded.

Matthew 28:18-20; Philippians 2:3-4

05

Remain Curious and Adaptable

We are lifelong learners who remain humble, teachable, and open to change. We embrace creativity and innovation as we grow and respond to new challenges.

This looks like: Seeking feedback and learning from experience; remaining flexible and open to new ideas; adapting quickly when circumstances change.

Proverbs 18:15; Acts 16:6-10

03

Lead Collaboratively

We believe collaboration multiplies impact. We lead with humility, serve one another, and value many voices as we work toward shared goals.

This looks like: Choosing teamwork over individualism; empowering others rather than seeking control; valuing perspectives across ethnicity, gender, and generation.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12;
Ephesians 4:11-13

06

Serve Humbly and Relationally

We care deeply about people and express love through intentional action. We listen well, extend grace, and speak truth with empathy and respect.

This looks like: Prioritizing relationships over tasks; acting with empathy and kindness; encouraging and supporting others generously; being quick to seek and offer forgiveness when we fall short.

Mark 10:43-45; Galatians 5:13-15

What makes the NWBC unique from other networks

These three commitments, held together, describe what makes the NWBC unique in how we serve churches and leaders.

A field-based, local approach committed to relationally driven ministry

A belief that flourishing leaders and families are key to healthy, multiplying churches

A deep well of resources, partnerships, and connections for a diverse audience

OUR GUARANTEE

Our Guarantee is our promise to the pastors and leaders who comprise the NWBC. It is the promise we live by and the commitment we must uphold.

At the NWBC, we will walk with you, encouraging you and working with you to identify and take your next step for yourself, your family, and your church.

PROVEN PROCESS

The process describes how the NWBC lives the mission and pursues the vision. Each area carries its own strategies and metrics, but together they form one shared path forward.
